# Aside from sequestering carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, what does SPE gain from planting trees?

We go on a more technical territory from there. The amount of CO2 absorbed is proportional to the number of carbon credits that are generated in the process. These credits can be utilized to be sold to individuals and parties who wish to lower their carbon footprints. Different parties have different emissions caps or limits; the carbon credits help lower those caps so that they can emit less greenhouse gases – and anyone who is conscious about our environment would strive to lower it as much as possible while still maintaining their operations, which is why these credits serve as an offset to those emissions. For SPE’s part, the profits earned from selling these credits can be used to finance even more sequestration projects.
